TempStars PPE and Infection Control Policies – COVID-19
At TempStars, we’ve always had clear and consistent guidelines and policies when it comes to our hygienist and dental assistant members working at dental offices.
While these have not changed, it might help to clarify how these apply to when everyone is getting back to work in a post-coronavirus world. Here are the bullet points:
- First and foremost, we care about the health and safety of all dental professionals and their patients.
- We will never pressure any dental assistant or hygienist to work in a situation where they feel disrespected, or that poses a risk to themselves, their license/qualifications, or patients.
- TempStars members are responsible for their own actions, decisions and behaviours at all times.
- If there is a situation at an office which puts themselves or the public at risk, you should bring it up to the dentist, owner or manager to see if you can resolve it. Most offices will clarify misunderstandings and resolve issues if you discuss it with them in a professional manner.
- Notify TempStars right away if there are situations like this, and we can offer advice or suggestions, but our role is not to dictate or tell you what to do – we are not your employer or ‘boss’.
And even though steps might be taken to restart businesses, let’s still remain vigilant in doing our part. Some experts say there may be a rise in cases as the restrictions are alleviated, but we can all work together to minimize the chances of this happening – and be cautious without being fearful.
